Our Story
Adam Wells started his towing career in 2004, learning under industry veteran Darren Shuttleworth. Over those early years, Adam developed the skills, contacts and work ethic that would define everything Sydney Towing Group stands for today.
In 2007, Adam took over Sutherland Shire Towing & Salvage, gaining hands-on experience across every type of towing job — from roadside breakdowns to heavy machinery recoveries. He later joined Select Tilt Tray Group, further building his expertise in specialist transport and long-haul towing across New South Wales.
Adam then launched Sydney Towing Group independently, initially operating as Machinery Transport Australia Pty Ltd. Starting with one truck and a reputation for doing the job right, the business grew steadily. Today we run a fleet of 5+ trucks and a team of 6–10 trained drivers, covering all of greater Sydney 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our focus has always been simple: show up fast, handle the job professionally, and take the stress out of every situation. Whether it’s a midnight breakdown on the M4 or a 10-tonne excavator that needs moving, we have the equipment and experience to get it done.
Our Journey
